Utah State Capitol Blossoms - Maternity

In all my years of shooting, I have never made it to the Capitol during the blossoms! I can't believe it! This year I was itching to go and was so happy to do this maternity mini session there with sweet Sarah and her husband. They are due soon with their first little girl and Sarah couldn't have been more radiant!

Seriously! She's glowing! And not only did her dress go perfectly with these gorgeous blooms, her and her husband were so giggly and had so much fun. He can make her laugh like there is no tomorrow!! And when they look at each other, everyone around could feel that they are just so in love.

I'm so glad I got to work with these two and it honestly was one of the most fun sessions I've had!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy mama! This babe is coming to the best parents and will be so loved!

Downtown Salt Lake Engagements - Eliza + Cody

Spring wedding, but snowy engagements? Not a favorite of most brides. Being a photographer in Utah during a dreary, dead-looking winter is hard. Finding the perfect location that fits your couple and their aesthetic, is gorgeous and easily accessible is no easy task, but we found some gorgeous places for these fun engagements.

Downtown Salt Lake is full of amazing places to shoot at, and the best part? Some of them are free to shoot at, including these two. We decided on starting our session at the Utah State Capitol and finish at sunset on top of the Harmon's parking garage. It was so perfect for this adorable couple and we couldn't have asked for a better early spring day. This winter has been hit and miss, so to speak, and the forecast for our original session date was looking majorly snowy so we moved it up a week and had the most amazing 60 degree weather and the most beautiful sunset!

Eliza and Cody are not only the cutest and most fun couple, they are family and I am so honored to be their photographer. Their bridal session is right around the corner and then their wedding! I'm so giddy and can't wait!

"Selfie" Family Photos

One of the advantages of being a photographer is being able to take your own family photos multiple times a year. Since my babe was born we have had our family photos done once by a fellow profesh and then the trusty ole tripod 3 more times. It can be tricky getting your little ones to look at a camera with no one there to make silly faces. Luckily we have a pretty happy baby so it's easy to get him to smile, but even though he's a happy fella, he doesn't smile for all of them! Especially when he's cutting 4 molars at once. *Please pray for this mama.......

I love getting to photograph and edit my own family. I love the cute little moments more than the posed photos most times. These are the photos I treasure most, and I love displaying.

These two boys are my absolute favorite human beings on this planet. I always knew my husband was going to be such a great dad, but seeing it in real life is magical, and just so perfect. I can't imagine only having phone photos of these two. Although I love the in-the-moment, peanut butter faces, or tickle time photos, these ones really show their relationship and I just can't get over them!

Of course you can't have a family photo sesh without some posed of the whole family. I struggle with wanting to be in photos, but I know that if I don't, down the road I'll regret it. I'm not perfect, and I'm not where I want to be physically, but my babe is only this small for a short time and I want to document every step of the way.
